Carnitine is synthesized in the liver by humans as well as being a part of the
diet intake in the form of muscle (meat) and organ meats. It is not found in vegetable
forms of protein. Carnitine is not an Essential Amino Acid.
The Tartrate form of L-Carnitine is used because it is the least hygroscopic
of the Carnitine powders.
Suggested uses
Main uses:
Heart tonic: Carnitine enhances the conversion of fatty acids (the preferred
energy source of the heart muscle) into energy.
Lipid lowering agent: Research has shown carnitine to reduce cholesterol
and triglyceride levels, while improving the ratio between HDL and LDL.
Energy enhancer: This nutrient is necessary for fatty acids to enter the
mitochondria, the metabolic centre of the cells, to be burned for energy.
